Loti is finding it hard being a witch in modern times; joining a coven could be the making of her. The only thing standing in her way to her initiation into The Fire Coven leaves her cold - having to steal a powerful magic ring from an incubus could be her undoing.
Determined to prove herself she struts into a well known magic club in the Red Light District hoping to put her carefully thought out plan into motion.
• step one- seduce Maxwell Henderson,
• step two - steal his enchanted ring
Unfortunately not all plans come to fruition and the evening doesn't pan out how she planned. Things get out of her control quickly when confronted with the devilishly handsome Maxwell and Loti ends up spending a very intense night with him instead.
The next day she wakes up alone in his bed with the realisation that all her magic is gone. Devastated she confides in her cousin Sophia who informs her that she can get powers back, but only if Max falls madly in love with her.
Will Loti be able to resist the temptation of Max or will she follow through with her plan to regain her magic and accept her powerful destiny?
The stream of sunshine were caressing my face and I stirred
on the bed awake. I felt warm, and very well rested. I stretched my arms wide,
realising that my own bed had never felt so comfortable. The space around me
was clean and slowly my eyes adjusted to the bright light that was streaming
into the room.
I was laying in bed naked and I had no idea what the hell
happened to me last night. Maxwell Henderson, the incubus demon had managed to
seduced me. His scent was still overwhelming, drifting around the room. We had
sex, probably the most amazing sex in my life.
I pulled the covers away and got out off the bed. My hair
were tangled and my make up was probably ruined. I tried to make myself looking
great again using a makeover spell if case he would come back to the room, but
nothing happened. I tried again, but it seemed like my magic was gone. The
familiar tingling around my body wasn’t there anymore. The magic that normally
brew inside me had been completely wiped away. I looked around with panic, thinking
that this was impossible, I was a witch and my magic had been with me since I
was a little girl. Something must have happened last night, something bad.
My entire plan was
ruined. Maxwell Henderson had managed to tricked me. He gave me the most unbelievable,
multiple orgasms and then he left me here in his room alone. The coven assured
me that my magic was supposed to be immune me to Incubus lust, so what the hell
happened last night? I had lost my head the moment he approached me in the
lounge.
I started searching for my mobile phone frantically, hoping
to figure out what the hell happened. I located it under the bed and a second
later I was dialling my cousins number. Max must have let me in his bedroom
alone for a reason. He must have known that I was after his precious ring.
“Hey sweetie, what’s up?” my cousin Sophia sang, sounding
very cheerful this morning.
“I’m in Maxwell Henderson’s bedroom. Just woke up and my
magic is gone,” I hissed to the phone, completely freaked out. All right, I was
one of the most powerful witches in the family, but right now I felt completely
useless.
“What? What’s happened? Have you managed to steal the ring?”
Max could walk in
here at any time, so I had to be quick. Sophia was intelligent and she was
always stuck in her bedroom, studying complicated spell books. She was the only
one that I could rely on.
“I showed up in the club, ignored him and before I know it
we were having sex upstairs in his apartment. It was amazing that’s all I could
remember. The rest of the night is a bit blurry,” I explained. “Tell me Soph,
what the hell happened to my magic?”
There was a silence on the other side of the phone. I got up
and started pacing around. Maybe this was only temporary, and soon my magic
would come back.
“Did you see the ring?”
“Yes, he was wearing it when we did it,” I muttered, annoyed
that she didn’t understand how serious this situation was.
“He must have stolen your powers, enslaved it to the ring
when you two connected on the emotional level. This could only happen if there
is strong physical attraction between two parties,” she explained, like she was
citing from the spell book. Blood rushed to my ears, and suddenly I couldn’t
breathe.
“This is bullshit. No, I need my magic and that damn ring,” I
said. “This wasn’t supposed to happen. Lucinda said that witches were immune to
Incubus lust.”
Maybe she lied, witches did lie to each from time to time. I
wished that I was more prepared.
“Hold on, I’ll see if there is a way to reverse the spell,” she
said. My stomach was in knots. I needed to get the hell out off here, get back
to the coven and figure out my next steps. My magic was my life. In the
background I hear how Sophia was turning the pages of her book. I massaged my
forehead, as the flashback of that night began moving in front of my eyes. Heat
rushed down between my legs. God, this was pathetic. He wasn’t even here and I
was getting turn on. No other human or a warlock had ever made me lose my head
like that.
“Oh dear ….” I heard on the other side of the phone.
“What? What is it?”
“It says here that you can break the spell only if the
incubus will fall in love with you,” she read. I had to sit down, because my
knees felt like paper all of a sudden. Sophia couldn’t have been serious.
Maxwell Henderson wasn’t capable of loving anyone. He was a demon and he prayed
on women lust. “Hey Loti? Are you still there?”
How long have you been a writer and how did you come to
writing?
I have been writing for about 5 years
now. From my teens I had been saying that I was going to write a book on day.
And during a summer break I was really bored, so I sat down and came up with
idea for my first series The Whispers of the Sprite. Then I started doing
research about self publishing and that’s how my journey began.
How did you come up with this storyline?
One of my street team members asked me
to write the story about Incubus demon. I started researching and came up with
the plot straight away.
What are the best and the worst aspects of writing?
I love plotting new stories, but truly
detest editing.
What inspires you to write?
Everything around me, other books,
films and dreams. I come up with new ideas all the time.
How did you conduct your research for Stolen Magic?
I have started reading legends about
Incubus demon, magic and other mythological creatures from that era. I have the
plot within an hour and then started creating my characters.
What are 3 of your favorite quotes from Stolen Magic?
I had been waiting for this moment
since I was sixteen years old. My mother was part of the Fire Coven, my
grandmother and great-grandmother too.
If Incubus demon looked at any human
woman, she was his regardless.
“I’m in Maxwell Henderson’s bedroom.
Just woke up and my magic is gone,” I hissed to the phone, completely freaked
out.
Any more Favorites from Stolen Magic?
“It says here that you can break the
spell only if the incubus will fall in love with you,” she read.
What would your friends say is your best quality?
Wide imagination
Are reader reviews important to you? Why?
Yes, reviews can help sell the book
and more reviews get authors exposure to other book review sites, blogging
communities, and book clubs.
What do you do when you don’t write? Like in “Real Life”
I take care of my daughter (she is 8
month old right now) and watch TV shows on netflix and read!
Tell us about your other books?
I write contemporary and paranormal
romance. My latest series is about demons and royal family. The series is set
in London. I have written over 20 novels in the past 5 years.
Joanna Mazurkiewicz was born in Poland. She moved to United Kingdom when she was only nineteen and just finished high school. She had aspired to be a writer upon completion of the Harry Potter series but also enjoyed reading books like 'Gone with the Wind', 'Animal Farm' and 'The doll'. She graduated from Swansea University with a bachelor degree in American Studies. While studying in the UK she made a decision to start writing fiction in English.
The "Whispers of the Sprite" is her first debut novel and she is currently working on the second book in the series. Joanna lives in Cowbridge, a small town in South Wales near Cardiff with her boyfriend Bruce. She enjoys cycling around Welsh countryside some of which has become the settings in her first series.
