For Cortney, signing on the dotted line was a no brainer. All she had to do was agree to spend a month getting to know a phoenix shifter—if she was a suitable match—and her student loans were paid. With one in fifty thousand odds, it was a risk she was willing to take. She hadn’t counted on being that one in fifty thousand, or on Draven being so sexy. Resisting his charms wouldn’t be easy, but at the end of the month, she would walk away. Debt free.

When one of Draven’s young phoenixes ends up dead in a hospital emergency room, Draven has to act fast. Otherwise, human lives will go up in flames—literally. A rising phoenix isn’t harmful to their kind, but to humans it is deadly. But when a spitfire of a nurse steps in and refuses to let him through, his whole world changes. Any other day, nothing would have stopped him, but the longer she’s in his presence, the brighter her aura shines. She’s not only a suitable mate—she’s his.

Élianne Adams, is a self-proclaimed tropical climate Princess, so how she managed to be born and live in snowy Ontario, Canada is a complete mystery. She loves to read (and write) romances that lure you into different worlds, the kinds that suck you in until the very end. Her paranormal romance books feature sexy as sin fire breathing dragons, gryphons, phoenixes, and jaguars.

If those sexy Alpha shifters aren’t quite up your alley, she’s also got wolves coming soon.

Hi there, it’s such a pleasure to be here speaking with you today. Thank you for having me and letting me rattle on about my work.

Tell us about your title featured in this set:
My contribution to Coming in Hot is called Burn Deep. It’s a paranormal medical romance, and I had a blast writing it. I probably had a bit of an advantage with this one since my evil day job is in the health care field, so writing it only took me a little over a month. It was so much fun that I plan on making this one into a series.

Tell us something about yourself.
What can I say about myself that won’t bore you all to tears? Well, I live in a small-ish town in Northern Ontario with my husband (my very own real life hero, though he doesn’t sprout fur or scales when he’s angry) and children. We have three pets, two cats, and an elderly dog. Although this story is about phoenix shifters, I also write about wolves, large cats (coming next year), angels and demons, and of course, dragons! I adore dragons!

Tell us about your writing process.
One thing I cannot have while I’m writing is noise. I get distracted by the smallest thing. If someone is watching television in the same room, I tend to look up and watch (yes, even commercials – and I’ll admit, it annoys the heck out of me). I like to write in the mornings, but that’s not always possible. Especially during summer break, so I grab the time I need when I can get it. Funny thing that I finally figured out while writing Burn Deep was that when I get hung up on my story and the words don’t seem to want to come to me, if I grab spiral notebook and pen, the words flow again. And amazingly, my word count isn’t a whole lot slower on paper than it is on the keyboard. Of course, then I have to transcribe what I’ve written, but at least the small writer’s block has been avoided, and the story can continue.

What is your favourite genre to read?
That’s a tough question. I read just about anything. One of my favourite books of all time is The Diary of Anne Frank. I remember reading it in grade school, and for the first time in my life, the story the book told tugged on my heart strings. I can tell you that my love of reading developed after reading that story. Now, having said that, I will freely admit that I’m a romance reader through and through. I love all genres of romance. I adore paranormal romance and will always read those, but I also read sci-fi romance. A new favourite of mine is m/m romance. I never thought I’d enjoy it, but after reading a few exceptionally well written ones, I’m hooked!

What would you say is the one thing are you most passionate about?
Outside of the writing world? My family. Hands down. My life revolves around my husband and children. Now if you’re talking about within the writing world, then I’d have to say it’s helping other authors get their books out there. I think the romance author’s world is amazing in this aspect. I have yet to meet (in person, or online) a romance author who wasn’t genuine and happy to help a fellow author out. I often work with other authors to promote and cross promote stories, and most of the time, it’s the reader who benefits with free reads and awesome gifts. J

When you are not writing, what do you like to do?
Boy, that’s a tough one. I’m always writing. Lol Honestly, life has been so busy over the past couple of years that I don’t honestly know how to answer that. Between doing renovations on our house in preparation for a big move (hopefully sooner rather than later), writing, and my evil day job, there is little time left in a day. Mind you, once we do move, I plan on making writing my full time career, so I’m really looking forward to that.

I can tell you the things I enjoy doing and wish I did more of. Other than the usual spending time with my family, I absolutely love being out in the woods. If I could have a cabin by a lake with all the things I’d need for survival, I’d be a happy camper.

If someone who hasn’t read any your books Asked you to describe your story in this set (the elevator pitch!) what would you say?
Burn Deep is a super-hot phoenix shifter medical romance story.

Draven, the head of a phoenix shifter clan, goes into the hospital emergency room to remove one of his clan mates who has perished and will rise again in a blaze that will not only threaten to burn the building to the ground, but endanger human lives as well.

Cortney, a nurse, stands up to him and stops him from going in. This is where the story begins. When Cortney’s aura changes color, Draven knows she’s not only a suitable phoenix shifter mate—she’s his. After lifetimes alone, he’s thrilled to have found her and invokes the Phoenix Mates Acquisition Contract, which stipulates that a woman found to be a mate match must spend thirty days with the phoenix shifter to see if they are compatible.

Draven is determined to convince her to stay past the thirty days, and Cortney is just as resolved to return to her career once her time is up. But things are never that simple. Shifter mates are rare, and there are others out there who would do anything to get their hands on his mate. All Draven has to do is convince her that he’s worth sticking around for, and keep her safe.

Thank you so much for having me here today. It’s been a real pleasure working on this set with all these amazing authors. I can’t wait for it to be released to the world.
Cortney’s heart slammed against her ribs. The Alpha? Crap. Could things get any more intense? It wasn’t a regular phoenix her body had betrayed her for, no, it was the damned Alpha. Now all the phoenixes in the Odyssey would scrutinize her every move, and each word she said. Maybe she’d just hole up in his apartment, or cave, or wherever phoenixes lived, and not come out until her time was up. She snickered at the cave thing. Anyone who drove a car like that one, or that sweet looking bike, had to live somewhere better than a cave.

Before she could say anything else, Draven came up to her. “Ready? We’re taking the bike. Pretty boy here is too banged up to ride.”

“Can we get some of my things before we go? I’ll need some clothes and toiletries and stuff,” she asked him. Though for the life of her, she had no idea how the hell she would get a month’s supply of things in a bag small enough for her to carry on her back.

“We won’t be able to carry much with the bike, but we can grab what you need for right now, and I’ll bring you home to get more stuff tomorrow or the next day. Would that be alright?” he asked her, but there was no other option to be had.

“I could always just follow you in my car,” she suggested.

He immediately shook his head. “That wouldn’t be safe. They won’t recognize the vehicle.”

Cortney looked at Trista, who just shrugged. “Okay, so the bike it is.”

When they reached the vehicle, Draven handed her a helmet. “Have you ever ridden before? Do you need help with the helmet?”

“Not often, but yes, I’ve ridden before, and no, I don’t need help.” She sounded bitchy even to her own ears, but she couldn’t’ help it. Things were getting out of hand fast. She had the helmet secured over her head when he came close again and checked on the fit. He didn’t say a word as he pulled his own on and slipped the visor down.

Trista came over, her smile now gone. “You okay, Cort? You’re looking a little pale.”

She pulled Trista a few feet further from Draven. “No, not really. Have you seen how gorgeous he is? How the hell am I supposed to resist him? And now I have to have my body wrapped around him for God knows how long until we get there. What if that mate chemistry thing starts happening right away? Remember those articles we were reading last week? I’m going to be one of those women we were laughing about in those articles.”

Trista burst out laughing. “Dude, you have to chill. We’ll just take our vacation and come home. So you get to jump his bones while we’re there. If you ask me, that’s a mighty fine perk.”

A faint crackling sound came at her from the inside of the helmet. “It’s two and a half hours to the Odyssey,” Draven said, his voice, coming through the helmet, sounding way too much like laughter.

“Fuck my life,” she whispered under her breath as she glanced over, and sure enough, his shoulders were shaking. Not only did she have to hang on to him for two and a half hours, but now he knew she was worrying about it. Without even saying goodbye to Trista, she got on the bike. It was going to be a long month.

East -A Novel A New Release by @PeriHoskins! #Travel in #Aus, #Spiritualism. #RPBP #ASMSG

It is 1994. Our junior lawyer narrator leaves behind a small, mean and viciously circular life representing petty criminals and takes to the road.
'East-A Novel'
by
Peri Hoskins
It’s 1994. Junior lawyer, Vince Osbourne, leaves behind a small,
mean and viciously circular life in the city representing petty criminals and takes to the road. He’s lived 30 years. The wide continent of Australia is out in front. He’s almost young. Where will the road lead?
East takes in sunsets; rain in the desert; a five-year-old girl on a bike; a battered former thief and jockey; old-timers; young lovers; beautiful women, and aboriginals in public bars. The open road connects many vignettes making a rich tapestry of human encounters.

East is poignant, gritty, funny, sad and above all: human. Hoskins’ laconic prose captures the harsh, arid country in all its big, empty beauty along with quirky exchanges with strangers, travel buddies, shop assistants, workmates, and friends old and new. A journey without and within, East taps into the spiritual realm that lies beneath this land and its people.Leaving

The bonnet in front of me is big and white. Rain on the windscreen – the wipers sweep it away. The clouds are grey, the road is grey, the suburbs are grey and I am leaving. There is joy in that. I’m leaving it behind – a life – small, petty, viciously circular. Out in front is the road and I don’t know where it will end. I am free. I’m almost young.
A beginning. Renewal pulses in my blood, pumping out from my heart, through my veins, feeding me, making me new again, a keenly conscious being reaching out to the uncertainty. This road will lead me to places that I have not seen – to people I have not met. There’s no place I have to be and no time I have to be there.
I drive on and on leaving the city far behind. The rain clears. Sunlight glints on wet grass and trees. I see farmhouses, fences and cows. The gnawing in my belly eases as I’m gently enveloped by the freedom of the great mystery now upon me. The shackles of the old life fall away, for I’m shedding a skin – dry, worn, old and scaly. I found the courage to step into the dream. And the dream has become real.
The life of a suburban lawyer is behind me. Small decisions. Small repetitions. Which tie to wear today. Pay the electricity bill. Sunday – iron five shirts for the week ahead. See the same people. Say the same things. Hear the same things said. In that life I wondered whether I had it better than the petty criminals I represented in court. Some had no job and no home. They pleaded guilty and I said what I could say, for something had to be said. And then the court, that street-sweeper of humanity, tidied them away. For there must be a place – there must be somewhere for them to go: a prison, a halfway house, a drug rehab centre. There must be a place for everyone – somewhere. These people had fallen through cracks and become untidy. Did they envy my tidy life, those that I helped to tidy away? Did they see my life as I saw it – not a tidy life, but a tidy prison?
Tidiness. I had been taught to lead a tidy life. What was it they had said – the teachers, the headmasters? Work hard at school. Get a good job. Be a good employee. Pay your taxes. Mow your lawns. Be a good neighbour. Be a good citizen. Lead a tidy life. Not a full life, a varied life, a great life – no, a tidy life of small neat circles. I have lived thirty years.
As the trees and houses and petrol stations whistle by, the reasons for leaving once again crowd my mind. At thirty, life no longer stretches out before me like an uncharted great ocean. If I live to be eighty, more than one third of my life is spent. Where am I? At a time of life when I’m supposed to be somewhere – I’m nowhere I ever wanted to be. I’ll taste the last drops of youth before the cup passes from my lips, forever. The familiar yearning claws at my insides again – but it’s different now – it’s happy knowing I have been true to it – finally.
The yearning … a murmur in a corner of my soul ... that’s how it started … a couple of years ago ... I pushed it away. I was busy; there were things to do. It kept coming back, stronger and stronger: a growing gnawing that would not be denied. The day I turned thirty, I came to know what it was, finally. It was the feeling of having missed my destiny. At one of life’s important junctures, I don’t know when or where, I’d taken the wrong turn.
So maybe that’s what it is: a journey back down life’s highway to try and find the turn I missed. A journey to reconnect with who I am and what I should be doing here – in this life. Did I ever really want to be a lawyer? Maybe I did it because my father didn’t finish law school. Maybe I did it for him, and not for me. Didn’t have the courage to find my destiny and follow it … settled for safety and caution. And the small repetitions of the safe life had closed in and were suffocating me. Don’t know if that’s what it is … I had to go – I know that much … it was the most honest thing I could do. And now it’s real: this journey with no end and no decided route. It’s a big country. Yeah, I’ll head east ... And in my travels maybe I’ll find something of the soul of this land and its people ...
I have been at the wheel for four hours. The muscular movements needed to keep the car on course have become automatic. My thoughts drift freely now, first to the future – new, pregnant with possibility – before anchoring in my childhood. I recall a long-buried idea – from a time of wonder at a world full of possibilities. As a child I thought I could see into people, a kind of second sight.
Memories flow into my mind – sharp, clear, focused. I see things now as I saw things then. I am a small boy sitting in the passenger seat of a car. My father is driving. We approach an intersection. A policeman is standing in the middle directing traffic. He signals the car in front to stop. The policeman fascinates me – his neat blue uniform, high black boots, long white gloves – his precise hand signals. He makes cars stop and go by moving his hands like the man who made the puppets move at the fairground. The gloved hands move and the cars obey, crossing the intersection, slowly and respectfully passing the uniformed man.
From above I hear the noise of a plane. In the eye of my mind as a child I see the silver wings and fuselage. The policeman’s eyes turn skyward to the plane I see clearly in the window of my imagination. The officer’s long-gloved hands slowly fall to rest at his heavy belt. Cars bank up at the intersection. The driver in front looks at him for directions but he gives none. Unconscious of the traffic, his attention is focused in the sky above. The face of the policeman loses form and I see into him. First I feel his discomfort in the hot uniform, the dryness in his throat and the tiredness behind his eyes. Gradually my perception deepens. I sense the numbed heart, the thwarted ambitions – the hopes and dreams unrealized and gone awry. He doesn’t want to be here, directing traffic. The past has cheated him. He is disconnected from the present and fearful of the future.
A car horn honks from behind. A driver doesn’t know why the traffic is not moving. The policeman’s eyes return to the traffic, his arms snapping up with military precision. As he waves us on, the look of purpose clothes his face once again and the moment of seeing into him has passed.
The second sight would come to me without warning and always just for a fleeting moment or two. I would see my mother trying to hide an emotion or catch my father unguarded, looking into the distance. In the moment of second sight the physical would melt – the body become transparent and amorphous. Instead of seeing the person I would see into the person – reach inside to the heart, sense the fears, touch the dreams – see the humanity, raw and struggling.

A winner!
To be honest; ‘East’ is not the kind of book that I typically read. I am more used to Zombies taking over the world and all kinds of science fiction. I read ‘East’ in an attempt to diversify. I am glad that I did. There were no Zombies, no alien attacks, but instead; I was presented with the story of a lawyer in Australia who walked out on his old life and started a new one. He has adventures; some good, some bad as he travels across the country. Hoskins writes with a brutal honesty that brings the character to life. After reading this book, I felt like I had an “insider’s view” into what life was like for some folks in Australia in the mid-90’s. That is the whole purpose of reading; isn’t it? To get into other character’s lives and to experience things you would otherwise have no clue about. Hoskins does a masterful job of drawing you in to his world with vivid descriptions and a detailed insight of the character’s observations as he travels from big cities to remote locations. It wasn’t an easy journey; but it certainly was entertaining!
~By Ken Gusler

East - a journey you won't regret going on.
Once again, as with Hoskins’ other book, Millennium, I was not disappointed. The novel, East, has something of a Kerouac and Cormac McCarthy feel to it; a tone that suits the on the road style journey that the main character, Vince, takes. East is refreshingly honest in its commentary about society’s foibles, life, the people Vince meets (themselves on their own journeys) and Vince’s own reasons for self-exploration. In some ways, the characters Vince meets along the way are a perfect foil for Vince's reflection; themselves giving the reader greater insight, not just into humanity, but also into Vince himself (and, dare I say it - ourselves). Through his travels, we learn more about Vince’s life and the need to connect with his father, seek approval; and in doing so, find some form of self-acceptance within a society that is quick to identify and perhaps vilify, the “other”. Hoskins’ ability to capture the humanity in the characters he writes of, some of them less than sympathetic in personality, prevents the personalities that populate East, from existing as caricatures secondary to the main character, Vince’s, own journey. East will make you think, smile, laugh, gasp, shake your head and reflect upon your own attitude to yourself and your place in the world around you. Oh, and the moment with his father – perfect. I thoroughly recommend this novel.

Excellent writing and an awesome book.
I loved this book it made me want to pack up my truck and take an adventure like the author Peri's character Vince did.
I really enjoyed this book set in Australia in the style of Jack Kerouac On the Road. The author Peri paints a picture of a dissatisfied lawyer, named Vince who decides to pack up his car and head east for new adventures. He comes across many interesting characters each impacting his life in their own ways. He's 30 years old and searching for his life's purpose after leaving his promising career in law. He sets off on his soul searching journey to find himself and gets entwined in the lives of the supporting characters. Staying with friends, youth hostels, and camping he finds his nomadic journey to become a spiritual quest and opens himself to whatever is meant to be. I felt invested in Vince as the main character and I wanted him to find his life's purpose and happiness. I highly recommend this wonderful book especially if you're a traveller or are ready for a new adventure.
😃~By Jsack

I couldn't put it down.
East is the intriguing, unsensationalised journey of Vince who has recognised the impotence of 'normal life'. Vince's process of finding that infamous unknown "something" unfolds through the delightfully detailed descriptions of the characters he encounters.
The way in which Vince's experiences are delivered is morishly unique; both unsettlingly raw and yet comfortingly nonjudgmental.
Peri Hoskins drew me into the life of his protagonist with humble mastery.

Who Is Peri Hoskins?
Peri Hoskins is the author of 'Millennium – A Memoir’, a travelogue memoir that has received many five star reader reviews. Christopher Moore of the New Zealand Listener had this to say about ‘Millennium – A Memoir’:

'Written with perhaps the merest of bows to Joseph Conrad and Robert Louis Stevenson, the book’s colourful cast of characters come together to greet the dawn of the 21st century. It’s a vigorously written sly-humoured account of human encounters in a small place lapped by the tides of change…It’s a genial well observed book that insinuates itself into the affections.’

~Christopher Moore, New Zealand Listener, 2 August 2014.
Peri Hoskins was born in Wellington, New Zealand. He is the second son of a family of five children, four boys and a girl. He is of mixed Maori and Anglo-Celtic ancestry. Millennium: A Memoir (Vince Osbourne Series Book 2)
It’s December 1999, the cusp of a new millennium. The tiny Pacific Kingdom of Tonga will be first in the world to usher it in. We travel there with our narrator to see the sun set on the old and the dawn rise on the new. We discover much more.

In a time and place of old customs we see the gentle advance of the new. This Pacific paradise is home to a diverse group of human beings at this unique time. Our journey with our narrator through many human exchanges – quirky, funny, and sad – accompanied by quotes from Hindu scripture echoes through the millennia and asks us what it is to be human in these dark times.

This book constantly entertains and delves beneath a fascinating surface to examine the quality of our age.

Millennium – A Memoir is a novella-sized slice of life travelogue of about 25,000 words. In capturing the time and the place this book evokes the work of Ernest Hemingway.

Two sexy shifter doctors need one sexy paramedic as their mate.

Paramedic Zoe Whitaker was set to become engaged until "they" came back. Lycan Werepire Doctors Brent Taylor and Liam Barnes have come back to Saginaw Heights for one reason only -- to claim Zoe for their mate.
New York Times Bestselling Author Izzy Szyn was born in May of 2014 when a friend dared her to write. Born and raised in Detroit, Mi. Izzy now lives in Oklahoma City with her furchild Misty, the friendliest Chihuahua/Terrier you will ever meet. Currently works in a call center, where she writes in between phone calls.

Izzy loves to keep in touch with her readers.

Hello! Thank you for this opportunity to talk about my new release Sexual Healing and help my readers get to know me better.)

Tell us about your title featured in this set:
The title is Sexual Healing and it is about 22 pages long (give or take) and I wrote it in ten days. (true story)

My computer hard drive crashed 12 days before my book for the boxed set was due to be submitted. Everything that I had written and edited up to that point was lost. I thought I had it saved in one other place but it wasn’t there.

The honest truth was that even though I liked what I had written something didn’t seem right. I couldn’t place my finger on it until I started getting the urge to write another paranormal at the same time. So I decided to go with my gut and turned Sexual Healing from a contemporary setting to a paranormal one.

When I was approached for the boxed set, the first thing that came to my head was Marvin Gaye’s Sexual Healing, so I went with it.

Tell us something about yourself:
I work full-time in a call center, and write in between phone calls. I hope one day to be able to stay home and write full-time.

I’m happily single, have a dog named Misty who is a spoiled brat, but loves everyone. I was born and raised in Detroit, but now live in Oklahoma city.

Tell us about your writing process:
I write what the characters tell me to write I’m a complete pantser as far as writing. Outlines make me sweat.

What is your favourite genre to read?
I will read pretty much everything, but my fav is erotic.

What would you say is the one thing are you most passionate about?
In professional life I’d have to say get better with each story.

When you are not writing, what do you like to do?
Watch movies, play Kitchen Scramble on fb

If someone who hasn’t read any your books asked you to describe your story in this set (the elevator pitch!) what would you say?
Hmmm, A friends into lovers story with a paranormal twist. Zoe was friends with Liam Barnes and Brent Taylor in high school, but they left when Liam’s parents found them in bed together the night of their graduation party.

They return ten years later and things have changed. Zoe is about to become engaged to Liam’s twin brother Derek and Liam and Brent have changed in more ways than one. They are what i like to call werepires, a combination vampire and shifter and they came back to town to claim their mate. Zoe.

“Hi,” she said to them coming up. “Liam? I didn’t know you’d be here too.”

“When Brent told me that he saw you at the hospital, I couldn’t stay away,” Liam stood up and hugged her. Damn he smelled good. A smoky, woodsy scent that came from him and not some cologne that could be bought. “I’ve missed you.”

“If you’d really missed me then you would’ve contacted me,” Zoe refused to admit that her heart flipped. “When did you get back to town?”

“A few days ago,” Brent replied. “I’m here for a few days as a consultant for a case. But that’s not the only reason why we’re here.”

“Oh,” Zoe’s heart sank. “What’s the other reason?”

“We came for you,” Liam told her.

Sidney was perfect compared to me. She's a veterinarian and I'm a killer of demons. Sid saves lives and I take them, violently. It was for the best that I stayed away from her...until I couldn't any longer. Cursed to watch my mate die over and over again, my heart couldn't handle another loss. But if Sid was going to survive it this time and break the curse, she would need a miracle. And if my past experience was anything to go by, miracles were more rare than a unicorn farting a rainbow. Yeah, it was going to be a long ass day in my hellish world.
Xandra James is a British author over 30 *cough*, slightly obsessed with coffee, and definitely addicted to chocolate chip muffins. When not reading romance books, she's writing them. And she can get so far into the new worlds she's creating, that you can often find her still slobbing around her house after lunchtime with bed hair and no idea what day it is! If you want to find out more about what makes her tick, sign up for Xandra's newsletter where you'll hear all about her news, book sales, and new releases. And she'll promise you that she never talk in third person about herself again (maybe).
Hi, it's great to be here today with you talking about my newest release, Sanctuary – available exclusively in the amazing Coming in Hot collection!

Tell us about your title featured in this set:
Sanctuary has been in my mind for a while. Originally it was going to be a contemporary romantic suspense. But once I started writing it (which took me 5 days-including edits), I knew my main character—Alexei--was a demon assassin. Then it took on a life of its own!

Tell us something about yourself:
I'm from the UK. I'm married with cats and my long suffering husband is very supportive of my need to write about demons and vampires and things which go bump in the night, lol.

Tell us about your writing process:
Basically I need to write the first draft of my story as quickly as possible. I have no idea what the story is going to be and I figure it out as I'm writing. Once I have something I can work with, that's when I slow down and will fill in the gaps.

What is your favorite genre to read?:
This is hard! I love paranormal romance and urban fantasy, but I still adore contemporary romantic comedy. There's nothing like a good belly laugh when you're reading.

What would you say is the one thing are you most passionate about?:
Animals – apart from my husband, of course, they're the one thing I'm lost without in my life.

When you are not writing, what do you like to do?:
I love discovering new films with my hubby. Also travelling around London doing the tourist thing and eating great food!

Thank you so much for having me today! It's been a lot of fun. I hope you'll come and find me on social media and say hello ;)
"Do you want some, too?" The pink punk had climbed to his feet, enraged confusion covering his ugly mug. His steel bar flew through the air toward my head and I spun away again, but before I could kick him down and retrieve my dagger from the puddle of his friend, he was on me.

And it stunk like a train toilet after curry night.

Its mouth opened to show two rows of lovely spiky teeth as they moved closer to my throat. Fuck. Yeah, the last thing I wanted to be was dinner to this pissed off little freak.

I didn't like to do it, but decided to use my advantage over him. Usually my natural physical strength was enough, but when you came across a mean little fucker on steroids—a drug straight out of hell—you needed every bit of leverage you could get. So, I played dirty. If there was one thing I liked about being a demon, it was being able to use my opponent’s strengths and abilities against them. By tuning in to their fucked up psyche, I could play with their toys.

Pink punk didn't have a lot up top—as soon as I was on his wavelength I felt dumber. Never mind, this would only take a matter of seconds... I turned his physical hold against him and pushed up, using his enhanced toughness. Pinky was astounded that I could fight back so easily. He was one of the meanest breed of fighters in the demon realm, after all. With one last push, I flung him away from me, darted over to my dagger and threw it at his throat.

A sizzle and a bang, and it was goodbye to stinky.

Hello! Thank you for this opportunity to talk about my new release Saving Reese and help my readers get to know me better:}

Tell us about your title featured in this set:
The title Saving Reese pays homage to a certain sexy neurosurgeon I worked with many years ago. I was a first year nurse on the surgical floor and he (the doctor) had been in a horrible accident and had been assigned to me. While no sparks flew (on his end), meeting and working with him left a lasting impression.

Tell us something about yourself:
I was born in Havana, Cuba to a musician father from Puerto Rico and Spanish flamenco dancer, my mother. I was raised in Spain but have called the US home for two decades. I now live in the suburbs of Chicago with my four children. Prior to writing full-time, I was a nurse. The first decade of my career was spent on the medical floors of hospitals. The second and last decade was spent working one-on-one with hospice patients. I loved every minute of it, the ups and downs included, but after a tough divorce (and marriage), I decided it was time to fulfill a lifetime dream and jumped into writing full-time right out the gate. Since then, many lessons have been learned, but I wouldn’t change any of it for the world.

Tell us about your writing process:
I write early in the morning before my kids wake up and life’s distractions get in my way. I aim for a minimum word count of 2500 words daily. In order for the words to flow, I have to write with no noise whatsoever. No music. No television. No phone.

What is your favorite genre to read?
I’m an eclectic reader. I generally am reading several books at the same time. I always have a writing craft book on hand.

What would you say is the one thing are you most passionate about?
Learning. I love research. For some authors, research is tedious, but I absolutely love it.

When you are not writing, what do you like to do?
I spend most days (and nights) with my kids. We talk and laugh all the time while doing any number of things, from binge-watching shows to playing tennis or jogging as a family.

If someone who hasn’t read any your books asked you to describe your story in this set (the elevator pitch!) what would you say?
It’s the story of two people who’ve dedicated their lives to helping others at the expense of their love lives, but when their paths cross, the lines between doing what’s right and having everything they never knew they wanted are blurred.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know a little about me. I can’t wait to share Saving Reese with you!

“Well, I’ll see you then and, by the way, I’m not afraid of a little spice,” she said before blushing.

“Neither am I,” I answered, hoping she and I were talking about the same thing.

We locked eyes, heat permeating between us. Her eyes radiated with fire as she stepped forward. I opened my arms to welcome her back into my embrace. As our lips touched, all of the day’s worries melted away. She and I were one and nothing else mattered.

I lifted her soft, curvy body and carried her down a small hallway in search of her bedroom.

As I laid her down on the bed, she inhaled, lifting her full breasts up into the air.

“Breathe,” I whispered as I positioned myself over her, hovering until she gave me a sign that she was ready.

She extended her arms, gently massaging the back of my neck with her smooth fingers. “I’ll try to remember that,” she whispered back.

My body writhed with heat and desire as her words sank in. “You’re so beautiful,” I hummed, feeling my body electrified by her gentle, knowing touch.

     “Hold me,” she begged.

I wanted to do far more than hold her, but I tempered my desire, steadied my anxious hands until I knew she nor I would be able to hold back any longer. “I’m here. I’ve got you,” I whispered into her luscious locks. “I’m not going anywhere. You’re safe.”

After a moment, I could feel her begin to relax. A gentle kiss on her cheek first, then a kiss on the neck, just below her jaw line. Her shoulders relaxed against the mattress. I moved up to her ear, taking it in between my teeth, tugging until I heard the familiar sound of pleasure escape her lips.

Still hovering over her, the lower half of my body begged to make contact with her, I willed myself to remain in the moment, enjoy the painstaking dance in full-on pleasure. As my hands skimmed down her silken skin, my erection grew larger and more animated, pulsating like the beat of a snare drum.
